{"id":177,"date":"2019-06-17T14:35:18","date_gmt":"2019-06-17T13:35:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/musumeci.faculty.polimi.it\/?page_id=177"},"modified":"2026-03-31T09:54:59","modified_gmt":"2026-03-31T08:54:59","slug":"home","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/musumeci.faculty.polimi.it\/","title":{"rendered":"Home"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Welcome to my personal page!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I am Associate Professor at the <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"Department of Electronics, Information and Bioengineering (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.deib.polimi.it\/ita\/home\" target=\"_blank\">Department of Electronics, Information and Bioengineering<\/a> in <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"Politecnico di Milano (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"http:\/\/www.polimi.it\" target=\"_blank\">Politecnico di Milano<\/a>, Italy, where I got my PhD in March 2013. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I am part of the <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"BONSAI Lab (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"http:\/\/www.bonsai.deib.polimi.it\" target=\"_blank\">BONSAI Lab<\/a> research group and my work is focused on design, optimization and performance evaluation of telecommunication networks, particularly in the fields of:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Machine-Learning-assisted networking<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Converged Space-Ground networks<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Data plane programmability and in-network computing<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Optical network design and management<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Network disasters resilience <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Energy-efficient communication networks<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/musumeci.faculty.polimi.it\/?page_id=201\">Check-out more details on my research activity.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I co-authored more than 160 peer-reviewed papers published in international journals and conference proceeding and I am co-recipient of three best paper awards in IEEE-sponsored conferences.
